Doing SOMETHING & Doing NOTHING – Part 2

Dearly Beloved,

I recall afresh that the emphasis of God, not just in New Testament, but also in the Old Testament, has always been "BECOMING", rather than "DOING", and this remains the sole duty of man; TO BECOME LIKE HIS SON. THE LORD JESUS ILLUSTRATED THIS UNTO US AS HE KEPT CHANGING GLORIES UNTIL HE ATTAINED THE VERY GLORY OF HIS FATHER. (Matt. 3:17/Matt. 17:5/Jn. 17:5 & Jn. 12:28/Heb. 1:8-9)

Jn. 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can DO NOTHING of himself, but what he SEETH the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Most exploits of "DOING", that comes before "SEEING” and “BECOMING", though celebrated by men and profitable to the course of this world, would hardly ever earn God’s respect or reward, and because all that man does would one day be tried (proved) by fire, many of such works would experience the fate of wood, hay of stubble before fire. (1Cor. 3:12-15)

Being A Disciplined Student Of God's Revealed Will Is The Shortcut That Would Cause Our Initiatives To Receive Heaven’s Endorsement And Blessing. Then would we not only have a peace that surpasses all knowledge; we would also see Heaven open doors and bless us with eternally purposeful relationships. Angels also would join forces with us as God moves the hearts of kings to favour his righteous cause in our lives.

Heaven is always "slow" to approve many of our initiatives because they can clearly see beyond what meets the eyes: they see the absence of their laws upon our hearts and minds and know that such adventures would only end up preserving and promoting the agenda of flesh in us.

Heaven desires to help our helplessness here and it’s left to us to tarry with a less-costly commandment of "Believing In His Name" (i.e. in what the Lord Jesus inherited); a philosophy that punctuated various epistles of Apostle John.

Jn. 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye Believe On Him Whom He Hath Sent.

I am gradually recovering from the pain of knowing I would have redeemed so much time, money and energy from being dissipated to vanity in the last decade plus, had I agreed with this counsel of Jesus to the Jews and unto posterity.

This is a full-time work and project for believers, meant to halt the invincible hard-coded program of haste (Isa. 28:16/Prov. 19:2) that resides deep inside our souls; one that both the smart and sluggish have in common, though the latter lacks the opportunity to exercise his.

May we find mercies before the Lord to submit to an unconsciously despised ministry of the Spirit of the Lord, which is to recover our lost eyes/sight (Lk. 4:18/Acts 28:16a) , AMEN.

Bless You!

Tayo Fasan
